BASIC STCW 2010

The 6-day STCW Basic Safety Training course (STCW 2010) is required to be undertaken by all seafarers in accordance with section A-Vl/1 of the STCW Code.
The course is intended to ensure that seafarers are aware of the hazards of working on a vessel and enables you to respond appropriately to an emergency. The course modules below make up the mandatory familiarisation and basic safety training requirements for all seafarers is an ideal course for anyone looking for Seafarer basic safety training at a recreational level or those wishing to make a career at sea.

SECURITY AWARENESS

Security Awareness training must be undertaken by all seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board any ship which is required to comply with the ISPS Code. As part of the Manilla amendments 2010 all seafarers are required to complete security training. The level of training depends on their specific role.

STCW REFRESHER

The STCW 2010 requires that the STCW basic and advanced training courses, which are over 5 years old, must be refreshed. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure that each and every person on board is aware of all of the latest safety measures, procedures and protocols that have been approved and need to be in place in to maintain the safety of all maritime vessels. As long as you have completed the full course and hold a valid certification, you are able to take part in this abbreviated version of our STCW 2010 Course that’s designed to polish your skills and get them in line with any recent updates to best practices for safety and security of everyone on board.

BASIC SEAMANSHIP

The course will cover basic Navigation and Seamanship at a foundation level that is ideal for leisure Sailors or small boat users that need to be able to Navigate in coastal waters. No previous experience is required, this course is perfect for you if you are new to sailing, motor boating, powerboating, sea angling or diving and inshore small boat owners.

CRISIS MANAGEMENT AND HUMAN BEHAVIOUR

The aim of the course is to increase awareness of persons responsible for the safety of passengers in an emergency situation with particular reference to:
shipboard emergency procedures, the optimum use of resources, a controlled response to emergencies, the control of passengers and other personnel during an emergency situation and the establishment and maintenance of effective communications, dealing with Crowds in emergencies and correct procedures.

ADVANCED FIRE FIGHTING

This practical firefighting course is for officers and senior ratings who will be in charge of a shipboard fire party. The course will provide participants with an understanding of the hazards associated with the marine environment; the prevention of shipboard incidents; rescue and abandonment, firefighting communication methods and practical firefighting organization and control. The course meets the requirements set out in Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code including 2010 Manila amendments.

LAUNCH CAPTAIN

This course is a comprehensive course for boaties with current knowledge and experience. 
It applies to a wide range of vessels including yachts, launches, and powerboats. The material extends your knowledge in - chart work, navigation techniques, distress signals, emergency procedures, knots, ropework, and provides a thorough understanding of the rules of the road at sea.

PYROTECHNIC TRAINING

Pyrotechnic signal aids, such as marine flares, help pinpoint your boats exact location in an emergency. A boat can be difficult to see, even in good conditions. Marine flares alongside communications technology greatly assists rescuers in getting a visual fix on a boat in distress

I.S.P.S TRAINING

This training course will provide ship security officers with the training necessary to meet their obligations under the International Ship and Port Facility (ISPS) Code. The ISPS Code is implemented through chapter XI-2 Special measures to enhance maritime security in the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974.

FORMING PART OF A NAVIGATIONAL WATCH

STCW requires all ratings forming part of a navigational watch on seagoing vessels of 500gt and over to be duly certificated to perform these duties. This includes entry level ratings standing navigational watches, such as lookout watches. It is also required by the personnel serving in a maintenance department when those persons are mandated by the Certificate of Inspection or manning document to be qualified to augment the watch.

FIRE WARDEN TRAINING

This Fire Wardens Training Course is suitable for anyone who has the desire and responsibility to step up to the mark i.e. that personnel who have been given fire marshalling responsibilities in your organisation.

BASIC FIRE FIGHTING

With this course, you will gain an in-depth knowledge of not only firefighting operations but also the preventative measures required to manage the risk from fires on ships. It will also give you an understanding of the existing legislative requirements around SOLAS, the International Fire Safety Systems Code and the process of fire risk assessment.

BASIC FIRST AID

This is a comprehensive course designed to meet the needs of those expected to provide first aid in a marine environment. This first aid course is very similar to the Standard First Aid course - the main difference is that the scenarios used are taken from the marine/fishing industry.
